Crazy Aggressive Dog, Not so much!

Today was a long, interesting day!  I had to work at 10, so I got to sleep in until almost 9am!  Before work I went to Starbucks because I felt like it was going to be one of those days, and that I would NEED it! So, I got a grande pumpkin spice frappacino...my absolute favorite!  I got to work and I found out that one of our check in's came in already and it was a new client (new dog to us).  I went out in the kennels to see him, he's an american bulldog, weighing in at 106lbs, he's a very big boy (not neutered as well).  He was VERY scared and submissively peed with me just looking at him.  My coworker went into the run to put his bed down and give him a bowl of water and a food dish, the dog was scared but okay.  I walked away to do something else and then walked back in a few minutes later to see my coworker walking out of the run looking at his hand and hearing the dog growling.  I asked my coworker if they were okay, and they said yes.  However, upon looking at their hand I could see the dog had bitten and it was bleeding.  :(  I had to call the owners to notify them and they were just about to get on a plane, I reassured them that I think the dog is just scared and that he probably would warm up after time.  I sat outside the dogs cage for 2 hours to get him to warm up to me.  After that time I was able to open the gate and let him out, he walked right past me and then walked up to me and sat down and gave me his paw.  Oh, did I mention that everyone else besides me and one other person said not to handle him and that he was going to hurt someone else and he was dangerous.  Another person and I said the whole time that he was just scared and needed time to warm up.  Now the dog is totally and completely in love with me!  He is all tail wags and giving me paws!  He thinks he is a lapdog as well.  I was able to get him out and walk him this afternoon.  This is where things get me angry, we had to file with the county because he did bite someone :(  He now has to stay with us for 10 days for a rabies quarantine. So the good news is that I have 9 days with a totally sweet, adoreable, handsome, and loveable boy!  As of 6pm tonight, I was the only one he would allow to pet him and put him on a leash.  However, he was slowly warming up to another coworker, so maybe by tomorrow or Saturday he'll be ok with others.
